Brass 485 round bar (leaded naval brass) is a high performance copper zinc tin alloy engineered for marine and heavy duty industrial applications requiring excellent corrosion resistance and improved machinability. Compared to standard naval brass (464), C48500 contains lead to enhance machining performance while maintaining strong resistance to saltwater corrosion and dezincification. It offers good strength, durability, and wear resistance, making it suitable for demanding environments. This alloy performs well in hot forming operations and can be easily soldered and brazed, though it is less suitable for cold forming and welding. Supplied in half hard (H02) extruded condition, it ensures consistent performance in fabrication and machining.
Applications: Marine hardware, fasteners, bushings, valves, condenser tubes, wear plates, industrial components.
Temper: H02 (Half Hard) | Extruded
