Brass 272 square tube (yellow brass) is a versatile copper zinc alloy designed for applications requiring a balance of strength, formability, and corrosion resistance. With slightly higher zinc content than 260 brass, C27200 offers increased strength while maintaining good ductility, making it well suited for structural and architectural tubing applications.
Performs exceptionally well in cold working processes such as bending, forming, and shaping without cracking, making it ideal for fabricated components and tubing assemblies. It provides reliable corrosion resistance in standard environments, along with a clean, attractive finish suitable for visible applications. While not heat treatable and less suitable for hot working, it remains a dependable general purpose tubing alloy.
Please note that select sizes (such as 3" square tube with a .062" wall) may be supplied in alloy C335, which offers a similar yellow brass appearance and comparable performance characteristics.
