Nylon provides good tensile strength, high durability, good fatigue resistance, as well as good thermal and chemical resistances. Nylon has decent stiffness and high impact resistance, however, stiffness decreases as the plastic absorbs moisture. It is typically used for automotive parts, parts in fuse breakers, low voltage switch gears, relays, and other electrical components, and high durability parts in sporting equipment.
