Tool Steel Square Bar O1 offers excellent dimensional stability during heat treatment, and otherwise decent attributes. O1 is an oil-hardening, general purpose tool steel. While not as strong or wear resistant as A-2 or D-2, it experiences significantly less distortion during the heat treating process. It is typically used in rolls, punches, shear knives, food processing knives, and gauges.

Custom cut lengths are not available from the warehouse for this product, but it is offered in standard lengths of 18 inches and 36 inches, both in stock and ready to ship.
O1 tool steel offers good machinability at 95% and an ultimate tensile strength of 105 ksi, making it less strong and wear-resistant than A-2 or D-2 steels but with significantly less distortion during heat treatment.
