Torlon
Torlon Product Guide
Applications | Mechanical Data
Overview
Torlon® or PAI (polyamide-imide) is a extremely strong and stiff high performance plastic. Torlon combines the exceptional performance of thermoset polyimides with the melt-processing advantage of thermoplastics. PAI offers incredible toughness, superior impact resistance, high creep resistance, superior compressive strength, and can maintain its stiffness up to 525°F. Its commonly used for automotive transmissions, jet engines, heavy-duty equipment, oil recovery, aerospace components, and chip test sockets. Torlon® is a trademark of Savic Specialty Polymers.
